FAQ
The active ingredient in self-tan is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a sugar molecule derived from sugar beets. DHA reacts with the amino acids (proteins) in the outermost layer of the skin (the stratum corneum), which consists of dead skin cells. Since the formula only adheres to these dead cells, you don’t want to have too many or too few of them. That’s why we recommend exfoliating 24 hours before applying your self-tan for the best possible result.
Our Exfoliating Pads are gentle and kind to the skin and should be used 2–3 times a week for the best results.
Start with a small amount to see how far the formula goes for your application, and refill as needed. Make sure to use up the formula you’ve filled into the container during each use.
The result depends on factors such as your skincare routine and the number of layers you apply. However, it typically lasts for about 5 days up to a week.
